Los Angeles-based clothing brand Popular Demand announced a unique collaboration today with famed L.A. landmark Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles that includes the creation of a special limited-edition capsule collection. Only 100 sets of this one-of-a-kind collection have been produced. The box includes three complimentary pieces: a unique Popular Demand Waffle Flag t-shirt, the Roscoe’s x Popular Demand leather brim snapback and a keepsake bottle of Roscoe’s maple syrup. As is the trademark of the Popular Demand brand, the collaboration is built upon attention to detail. The Waffle Flag t-shirt is based on Popular Demand’s official Square Flag logo. Popular Demand’s creative team used actual Roscoe’s waffles to create the image for the t-shirt. In addition, the t-shirt graphic features a life-like waffle texture. The snapback hat boasts Roscoe’s official logo on the front, a leather brim with Los Angeles printed in all capital letters under the brim, the PD Square Flag logo embroidered on its side and ‘Popular’ embroidered above the snapback. While not for consumption, the last piece of the pack is the collectible mini-bottle of Roscoe’s maple syrup that allows anyone in the world who purchases this collaboration to have a tiny piece of Roscoe’s history delivered to their door.
Of the 100 sets produced, twenty were gifted before the official public release, set for later this week. Those went to tastemakers and notable personalities, including Floyd Mayweather, DJ Drama, E-40, James Harden and others known for wearing Popular Demand. Trey Songz, also among the people who received the PD-RCW Box in advance of its release, was reportedly so excited about its contents that he wore the entire Popular Demand x Roscoe’s set out last month while celebrating his birthday in Hollywood.
