Where are you from and how did you become a DJ?
I’m from Long Beach, Ca & back when I was in High School I used to party a lot and I noticed that the parties would get weak if the DJ’s sucked. I knew the DJ’s were getting paid and I felt like I could do better than most of the other DJ’s and get paid so that influenced me to start.
What is the significance of your DJ name? How did you get it?
It was hard for me to think of a name. My first DJ name was T-Hoe but all my friends made fun of it and told me I needed something better. It was about 5 of my bros and we were all trying to figure out a new name so everybody just start throwing out ideas. Somebody said DJ Bugsy and i just like the way it sounded so I stuck with it.
Who are your top 5 biggest influences?
My biggest influence was from my pops, R.I.P, who I lost last year. He believed in everything I wanted to do and when I told him my dream of being this big time DJ he helped me with everything I needed. Started me off with all my equipment & just helped out with whatever he could.
What is your favorite part about being a DJ?
My favorite part about being a DJ is probably the fame that comes with it. A lot of people look up to me and also music in general just keeps the stress of of me. I love music and mixing it together just keeps me in a calm mood.
What are some of your favorite tracks coming out of the West Coast right now?
I don’t really have a favorite song on the west coast right now but anything Carisma or Mustard drop I mess with heavy.
What’s the one thing aside from music that you love the most?
Aside music I like throwing parties because that’s another way I get my buzz up. I don’t really take breaks on working on my craft and I won’t take a break until I make it.
