Jordan Brand is apparently bringing back the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” for the 2017 holiday season. Originally released in November 1996, this simple black and white version was the first colorway seen on the 12th edition. The design has seen retro releases throughout the year, with a low-top rendition eventually making its way onto shelves in 2004. As reported by Sneaker Files, the newest release will uphold the original sneaker’s silhouette, with white tumbled leather along the upper and black pebbled leather on the mudguard. Be sure to check back for more details on this limited drop. –HB
To celebrate the coming new year, Jordan Brand is releasing a special “Chinese New Year” themed Jordan 12. The latest Jordan 12 iteration takes on the classic “Taxi” colorway, but with some extra Chinese New Year details found on the tongue and insoles. Additionally, the upper is constructed of a reflective 3M material. Retailing at $220 USD, the Air Jordan 12 “Chinese New Year” is set to release January 28 at select Jordan Brand retailers. –HB
Jordan Brand has recently unveiled the latest iteration of the Air Jordan 12 Retro, this time in an unintentional ode to the late and great Prince. The pair, dubbed “Ultra Violet,” sports a predominantly black upper in suede, leather and rubber, with golden metal eyelets as a modest yet bold detail. The shoe’s standout feature however is its almost luminescent purple sole unit, with the purple theme running up the heel, through to the tab, into the entire lining, and rounded off on the tongue’s Jumpman logo. This is out now for $140. –HB
Coming off the success of VIEWS just over a month ago, Drake keeps things rolling with the rest of his OVO Jordan Brand collaboration slated for release. With the Retro’s debut earlier this year, we’ve been impatiently waiting for the arrival of the 12s. Hopefully the wait won’t be much longer, as a placeholder release date has been announced via DJ Folk’s Twitter. However, with the new Jordan Brand placeholder release date system, announcements have been somewhat unstable in recent months. For now they’re expected to release July 30. -HB
Jumpman jumps back into its time machine to go back to 1997′s NBA Finals with a retro release of a popular Air Jordan 12 colorway. This game would go down in basketball and footwear history due to MJ contributing 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a block all while battling a stomach bug. The asymmetrical silhouette hosts traditional black and red leather with “Two 3″ branding going down its tongue for a twist on MJ’s iconic number. The Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” will officially release on May 28th. –HB
They’re back. Following a CDP release in 2008, the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” returns to retail. A white and black color scheme proves as just as iconic in 2013 as it was in 1997, earning its nickname from the yellow and black hits on the carbon fiber midfoot shank. Golden eyelets keep it classy, with heel and tongue tagging providing identity and nostalgia. Check out detailed photos of the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” in the gallery above and look for the Taxi 12s to launch at select JB accounts on December 14th. -Box Kev [more…]
Taxis are headed back in 2013, but don’t sleep on the Gamma Blue, which has been gaining some steam since we first saw it not long ago. The Black/Blue combo does have that Nuggets feel to it, but the perfect hits of red on the tongue Jumpman, ’23′ on the heel, and other accents give these Air Jordans a unique profile. A release date hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but check out the photos below and cop a pair way in advance from ajaddiction on eBay. -Box Kev [more…]
