Air Jordan 6 “Black Cat”

air-jordan-6-black-cat-01The Air Jordan 6 is getting the “Black Cat” treatment this winter, adopting a nearly all-black look to close out 2016. A nod to MJ’s old nickname, the kicks echo the aesthetic of previous “Black Cat” drops, but — instead of donning a “Triple Black” motif — offer a dash of white on the underlay, branding, midsole and laces for some contrast. As far as construction goes, premium leather is the name of the game as both smooth and perforated paneling handle the entirety of the upper. These will hit Jordan Brand retailers on December 30 for $190. –HB

Air Jordan 6 “Alternate”

air-jordan-6-hare-3Jordan Brand extends its “Alternate” color theme to another classic silhouette. Similar to an AJ4 that released in December 2015, this Air Jordan 6 sports a colorway that MJ could’ve worn during his 1991 playoff run. Sporting a base mix of white and pure platinum, a gym red hue is seen on the lining, lace lock and portions of the tongue. There’s no specific release date as of yet, but it looks like the Air Jordan 6 “Alternate” is expected to launch sometime in March for $190. –HB

Air Jordan 6 “Green Glow”

air-jordan-6-retro-green-glow-1The “Green Glow” colorway proved to be quite a hit on the Air Jordan 4 silhouette already, so it only made sense for the Jordan Brand to apply the refreshing color scheme to another one of its models. This latest drop sees the Air Jordan 6 rendered in the striking combination of cement and dark grey hues with touches of mint throughout, though unfortunately this colorway will only be available in Grade School sizes starting April 30th. –HB

Air Jordan 6 Retro “Maroon”

air-jordan-6-retro-maroon-001First sold in 1990, the Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” has not been seen since, which makes this re-issue all the more significant. The predominantly white colorway boasts an upper of leather with prominent perforations throughout, while hints of maroon decorate the lining and heel pull, and outline the translucent icy blue outsole and visible Air unit. Nike branding embroidered on the heel counter in silver thread finishes off the colorway. Available from December 5 onwards online at Rock City Kicks for $220.

This Black Friday features the return of the coveted Air Jordan 6 Infrared. The 2014 Air Jordan 6 Retro “Black/Infrared 23″ sports a smooth, solid black nubuck upper, which is then finished with infrared accents and an icy blue, translucent outsole. A noteworthy detail is the reappearance of a reflective underlay as seen on the shoe’s upper, an aspect of the shoe that has been absent since its original release. The Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Infrared 23 will be available this Friday, for the retail price of $185 at Nike’s online store.[more…]

Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Infrared 23

The upcoming release of the Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” features a black Nubuck upper, Infrared accents, a translucent outsole, and 3M detailing throughout. We also see some of the 6s more unique design cues, like the oversized pull tab on the heel, which designer Tinker Hatfield modelled after Porsche’s “Whale Tail” spoiler. 23 years and 6 championships since it debuted, the 6 remains a staple of Jordan’s championship legacy – because you never forget your first. Look for the Black/Infrared 23 Air Jordan 6 at the likes of Sneaker Politics for $185 just in time for Black Friday.[more…]

Last November, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard confirmed that he would be joining the exclusive club that is team Jordan.  This season, in addition to wearing the Jumpman logo on his feet, Leonard has received his own emblem that will be stamped on to each shoe he wears. The claw-like image, which symbolically features his own initials, made an appearance last night on Leonard’s feet as he laced up an exclusive pair of Air Jordan 6‘s. Jordan Brand also recently released images of the Air Jordan XX9 with Leonard’s signature logo stamped on the insole. While neither of the shoes are available to the public yet, enjoy the look above and stay tuned for more information regarding this release.[more…]
