Nike Air Max 97 ‘Anthracite Gold’

The Nike Air Max 97 has surely seen its fair share of releases in 2018. As the year comes to a close, Nike blacks out the sleek runner with a small dose of anthracite on its midsole. The full-length Air Max unit matches the tonal upper with metallic gold accents shared on the Swoosh logos. Lastly, the simple colorway is finalized thanks to 3M reflective accents throughout the upper’s piping. These are currently available for $170 at select Nike Sportswear locations. –HB

As Nike‘s Air Max 97 prepares to close out a banner year, the sneaker giant still has several special packs on the way, including the recent “Jacket” pack and this forthcoming “Metallic” release. Encompassing a trio of 97s, the pack includes a silhouette that recalls the famed “Silver Bullet” colorway that received much acclaim last year. Read more…

Nike Air Max 97 SE “Velvet Brown”

Nike offers up another premium take to its iconic Air Max 97 silhouette, this time in a lush “Velvet Brown” colorway. The tonal colorway sees an upper made of layers of leather and synthetic material, alternating from brown to gridiron in its ripple-like design. Muted branding can be in the form of a tonal Swoosh at the arch, tongue and heel of the shoe. Another nice touch in these trainers can be seen in the subtle contrast from the dark-brown uppers and the clear full-length air unit. Those interested can find these over at the Nike web store for a price of $170. –HB

Nike Air Max 97 “Spruce Aura”

The silhouette takes a simpler route with a mix of black, white and light grey. Dubbed “Spruce Aura,” the design’s cushioning is found in the black full-length Air Max unit sandwiched between a light grey outsole and white midsole. Moving towards the upper, you’ll find the same shade of grey in suede just above the midsole. The rest is delivered in black down to its laces, tongue and pull tabs. Finally, mini Swoosh logos finish off the “Spruce Aura” iteration on the tongues plus its lateral and medial sides. –HB

Nike Air Max 97 “Metallic Gold” Pack

The forthcoming pack takes things a step further than the legendary “Silver Bullet” iteration with two new “Metallic Gold” editions. The pack sees one version sporting “Metallic Silver/Metallic Gold-Black” as its partner sees “Vast Grey/Metallic Silver-Metallic Gold.” Both share white midsoles housing full-length Air Max units. Nike’s Swoosh logos return to their rightful place on each side in addition to the tongues. These arrive on November 23 at select Nike Sportswear and Nike.com retailers for $160 each. –HB

Nike Air Max 97 ‘Maroon & Blue’

This version of the retro silhouette features streaks of maroon leather and metallic silver mesh across its wave-patterned upper, hits of bright blue arrive at the embroidered mini Swoosh branding, inner lining, heel pull tab and outsole accents, while a grey Air Max sole unit completes the unique color scheme. These are slated for a stateside release sometime in October at Nike’s web store. –HB

Nike Air Max 97 “Blue Hero”

Taking on a mostly tonal blue look, the upper’s signature wave panels have been crafted from a mix of bright blue leather and nylon. Elsewhere hits of black and red branding can be found, while a mini Swoosh logo sits on the toe and an Air Max strip is featured on the heel and throughout the lacing system. Finishing off the look of this “Blue Hero” AM97 iteration is a white midsole, icy blue Air bubble unit, and a white and blue outsole. Look for these at nike.com on November 19 for $160. –HB
