Nike Air Max 180 “Black/Volt”

Our first look at Nike’s Air Max 180 “Black/Volt” model came last spring, however, with the new iteration recently coming up for retail release, new lifestyle images have surfaced, granting us a better look at this slick rework. Stark black makes up the majority of the shoe, not only blanketing the entire upper but its midsole unit as well. “Volt” landing in the Air unit, heel branding and insole adds subtle, yet sharp tonal contrast, which is then finished off with a translucent outsole. –HB

Nike Air Max 97 “Black & Yellow”

Nike’s Air Max 97 has returned with a new colorway offering. One of the most popular Air Max models sees a mix of black and silver throughout with subtle yellow accents found on its inner lining and full-length Air Max unit. The bottom half of the upper is designed with black as the top alternates grey and reflective silver throughout its piping. Branding finishes things off on the tongues, heels and each lateral and medial side. –HB

Pharrell‘s upcoming adidas Solar Hu Glide St collaboration recently surfaced in an alternate black look. Opting for a more subtle tooling, this time around the shoe features a black mesh upper accented by a yellow lining, red/green panels, and blue TPU heel counters. Finally patterned laces looped through a 3D-molded vamp, black midsole detailing, full-length BOOST midsole and “Hu” toe embroidery rounds up the design of the shoe. –HB

Artistically similar to the “Just Do It” pack, Nike is preparing to release a new rendition of its popular Air Max 97 model, this time spotlighting subtle Nike branding cues all throughout its mudguard area. The new rendition comes dressed in heavy black from top to bottom with traces of “University Red” landing on the tongue and side Swooshes, as well as the heel pull tab. The uppers feature a mix of leather and nylon, which sits snugly atop the Air-centric midsole and rubber outsole combo. A release has not yet been confirmed, so check back for updates. –HB

adidas NMD R1 ‘Black & Gum’

adidas appears ready and willing to push its NMD R1 model back to the same prominence it held much of last year, revealing the statement sneaker in a myriad of color schemes just in the past few months alone. Up next for the runner is this tonal motif, pairing a black-toned upper alongside a gum rubber outsole. Mesh dresses much of the base, with matching-hued EVA plugs, heel counter, pull tab and branded tongue adding artistic accents to its otherwise minimalist aesthetic. Sitting below, the full-length BOOST midsole and popular outsole help ensure user comfort while adding stylistic charm. –HB
