airmax90Dubbed “Tough Red,” this iteration of the sneaker features a variety of materials, with leather making up most of the shoe’s body and overlays of black suede along the side panels. The sneaker also features hits of red on the mesh material along the toe box as well as on the laces and the Swoosh logo along the side. Adopting designer Sergio Lozano’s original gradient design, the sneaker features beautiful grayscale tones across its leather and mesh upper that’s complemented by a dark gray, cushioned sole with visible Air unit and tonal laces. –HB

The latest illustration of that fact comes in the form of this Black/Cool Grey-Anthracite-University Red rendition of the Air Max 90. Sporting a seasonally appropriate base of marled grey mesh, the design feature black leather overlays throughout as a dash of red takes care of the tongue branding badge. Finally, additional black and grey accents hit everything from the air-cushioned midsole and lining to the leather Swoosh branding, laces and molded eyestay.

In both instances the iconic retro runner adopts a monochromatic look as the hues hit the entirety of the silhouette. Constructed with breathable mesh and supportive synthetic overlaying panels, the designs come complete with a subtle geometric pattern along the Swoosh. Both pairs are available in-store now.


Nike Air Max 90 Essential “Vapor”

The classic silhouette touts a mint green mesh toebox, tongue and upper, with suede paneling for a premium feel. The mint green is complemented by a black and gray midsole, and red accents throughout to complete the shoe. The Swoosh is adorned with crocodile leather material. The most “essential” take yet on the classic Tinker Hatfield-designed runner — aside from its original “Infrared” colorway — is this brand new “Triple Black” edition of the Air Max 90 from Nike Sportswear. Employing an upper that combines breathable mesh and a nylon tongue with leather and nubuck overlays, the “Triple Black” AM90, as the name suggests, sports a tonal black colorway without a single contrasting accent.
