Recognized as Billboard’s Artist On The Rise, Covina California based hip hop artist Hi-Tone is poised to establish himself as a leading voice in contemporary rap for Mexican-Americans. Last night he debuted his newest track “Mr. Miyagi” off his upcoming album, ‘Price of Admission.’ Produced by Steelz, the club-ready, synth-driven cut features Hi-Tone boasting and showing another part of his personality.
Recently Hi-Tone was spotlighted as Billboard’s Artist On The Rise for the release of the first visual for “The Voice” off his upcoming album, ‘Price of Admission’ which is set for release on December 15th. Today, the west coast MC continues the quest for controversial and much-needed conversation in hip hop with the release of “The Voice” documentary. This 10-minute film was created to give people more awareness on the uphill battle Hi-Tone has faced as a Mexican American in the rap game.

Last night Dj Carisma kicked off National Hispanic Heritage month by premiering Hi-Tone’s new single the “Voice.” “Is there a voice in mainstream hip-hop for Mexican Americans?” Not only does Hi-Tone touch on his concerns in hip-hop but he also goes in on the current state of politics — “Trump built a wall, f*ck it I’m climbing up for ya.” Listen in below.
As Hi-Tone prepares to drop his follow-up to 2016’s No Xanax Needed, the Covina rapper has recruited Compton AV for “This That,” a loosie single that wasn’t exactly aligning with his forthcoming album’s theme. ‘This is a song AV and I did to send a message of hope and unity for the black/brown community. We genuinely support each other, so the music came easy.” Although there is no official title or release date for the new album, listen in below!
