Here we find Jordan fusing two of its most distinctive models from the past – the VI and XVII – to create the 6-17-23. Michael Jordan’s 17th model took inspiration from the lines of an Aston Martin, expressed in wide, powerful features at the midsole. These characteristics were lifted from the original silhouette and put onto the Air Jordan 6, which here can claim the collar and toecap portions of the mash-up. The shoe is executed with purple leather and nubuck around the upper, contrasted by black accents and an icy midsole – all of which account for the “Dark Concord” naming. Look for this release from Jordan to drop on May 3 on Nike’s website.

The addition of the Jordan CP3.VII to NIKEiD isn’t the only new thing to hit that platform today. Also making its debut is the original Spiz’ike print on the Jordan Spiz’ike iD. We’re not sure why it took so long to give the model that wavy font pattern that first appeared on the shoes. The good thing is that you don’t have to totally commit to it across the upper-the selection still lets you separate the wings with a different choice if you want. Jordan has unveiled Paul’s latest signature silhouette entitled the CP3.VII. Designed for the point guard’s speed and unpredictable style of play, the lightweight kicks make use of a synthetic upper with Dynamic Flywire support. This is an evolution of the Podulon system employed by previous CP3 signatures for low-profile, responsive cushioning. As a nod to both East Los Angeles and the ’80s era in which Paul grew up, the lead colorway of the new silhouette combines a bold combination of black, green, purple and blue. The CP3.VII is set to make its debut October 5 for $125 USD. [more…]
