Nike designer Leo Chang articulated Durant’s memory of Aunt Pearl by creating a customized sneaker based on Durant’s tributary artwork. A three-dimensional wing strap, inscribed with a touching acknowledgment to his aunt and an endorsement of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for whom Nike has been a supporter of for seven years, graces the front of the shoe while an imprint of Durant’s tattoo is embedded on the inside of the tongue. Take a closer look at the Nike KD7 “Easy Money.” A tribute to Kevin Durant’s nickname as well as the man who graces the $100 USD bill, the “Easy Money” iteration sports a mystic green hue with orange accents throughout and a light brown, gum-colored outsole. Additional details on this particular model includes a silhouette of his home state of Maryland embedded on the outsole, while the forefoot strap features the names of his mother Wanda, his grandmother Barbara, his father Wayne and his brother Tony. Nike has officially revealed Kevin Durant‘s latest signature shoe: the KD7. A reference to the temperature of a lightning strike, this colorway features a bright mango upper with hits of grey across the strap, midfoot, and lining, and an energetic volt outsole and Zoom Air bag in the heel. Graphics and nods to lightning also appear on the insole and Swoosh, while the strap includes the names of his mother, grandmother, father and brother.
