Kendrick Lamar’s “m.A.A.d. city” has stood the test of time and remains a fan favorite over five years after its release. The song is produced by Sounwave and T.H.C, and features the Compton rapper delving headfirst into the violent, chaotic environment he grew up in. It serves as one of the album’s two title tracks, along with “Good Kid,” and stands for both “my angry adolescence divided” and “my angels on angel dust,” both of which harken back to K-Dot’s own childhood.

Sitting on top of his recent Pulitzer Prize in music, K. Dot continues to accomplish big things starting with 2012’s ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City.’ It was reported yesterday that he has totaled over 70 million RIAA units moved when calculating songs, albums, and guest features. Yes, that includes, ‘DAMN.’ & ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ & the ‘Black Panther’ album too, of course. Another trophy for the West Coast, next up, 80 million!

The BET Awards have just unveiled their list of nominees for 2018 and Kendrick Lamar & the Migos lead the nominations. Other notables in the running include Drake, Cardi B, SZA, Rihanna, and J.
