This time around, Nike Basketball joins in on the fun with the Kobe 11 Elite Low silhouette as the canvas. Inspired by the need for a crisp white pair on a beautiful summer day, you’ll find its upper dominated by white Flyknit matched with a white midsole. A nod to the Brazilian flag can also be seen throughout its detailing as hints of green, blue and yellow are visible within subtle detailing on its lace tips, Swoosh and heel outlines. Read more…
This time around, the 11 silhouette receives military-themed uppers set on top of gum rubber outsoles. Transitioning from black at the toe to olive in the heel, burgundy meets in the middle to finish off the Flyknit upper. In addition, you’ll find Kobe’s traditional stripes on the back to acknowledge his achilles injury in red. There’s no specific date as to when we can expect these to hit shelves stateside, but this is set to launch at select European retailers on September 17 for approximately $200. –HB

Nike is reintroducing the distinct “Bruce Lee” colorway for the Kobe 11. For this special edition sneaker, the Flyknit upper is reimagined in a yellow to black gradient, and the four stripes on the heel have been recreated as scratches, paying homage to Bruce Lee’s injuries incurred during the classic film Enter the Dragon. Complementing blood red hints in the Flywire, tongue and sole complete the shoe. With a price tag of $200, the sneaker will be hitting stores March 19th. –HB
The future hall-of-famer has always obsessed over the details of his kicks and the upcoming Kobe 11 is no different. The result is a simplified, familiar low-top silhouette that allows the tech to do the talking as pearlescent TPU threads — debuting here for the very first time — are incorporated throughout and represent a stronger, more supportive evolution for Nike’s knit. Cushioning comes in the form of full-length Lunarlon foam and a Zoom unit in the heel. Debuting in a special “Achilles Heel” make-up — a nod to the seemingly indestructible Greek god, as well as Kobe’s recovery from 2013′s season-ending Achilles surgery — the Kobe 11 is set to launch January 9, 2016 across the globe.
