New to the Jordan Brand family is this alternate version of the Air Jordan 1 Mid. Although very similar in appearance to the “Royal” rerelease we saw earlier this summer, this rendition, too, utilizes “Royal Blue,” however, swaps out the tonal black details for “Obsidian.” Although smooth leather dominates the uppers, tumbled leather also catches a spotlight as the textured material makes its way onto the toe, side panel Swoosh, heel and ankle overlay. Also note the Jumpman branding on the tongue, which replaces the ever-iconic Nike Air logo. –HB
The aforementioned suede takes the place of the expected tumbled leather while the military-inspired ballistic nylon returns to the heel area. Nike adds metallic gold as a complementary color on its industrial-like labeling and eyelets while the rest of the sneaker welcomes the deep blue obsidian hue. The dual zippers return to the heel for an easier entry in addition to the signature strap that surrounds the ankle. Retailing at $160, the Nike SF AF-1 Mid in obsidian suede currently doesn’t have a confirmed launch date, so stay tuned for additional information. –HB
Thankfully, the “Hazel” SF-AF1 Mid are slated to officially drop next week. Marked by a monochromatic black upper of ballistic nylon and tumbled leather (with a matching strap and buckle to boot), the zippered design comes complete with a contrasting brown-colored sole unit. Finally, white text graces the upper as per usual. The SF-AF1 “Hazel” will hit select Nike Sportswear stocklists July 26, for $160. –HB
Dressed in a clean white and “Metallic Silver” color scheme, this style features a white leather upper with perforated detailing on the toecap and rubber outsole with deep flex grooves for tractions. Elsewhere, silver accents cover the shoe’s Wings logo, the Swoosh, and the Jumpman on the tongue, heel, and inner liner. Also, the Air-Sole unit is added in for supportive cushioning. You can find the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Metallic Silver” at select Jordan Brand retailers and online for $110. –HB
2017 marks the 10-year anniversary of the “Old Love, New Love” pack and, to celebrate, the Swoosh imprint is rereleasing the pack’s bold yellow and black “New Love” make-up. Originally accompanied by the original “Black Toe” colorway when it debuted a decade ago, 2017′s solo “New Love” drop perfectly recreates the OG, retaining its mid-top cut and coupling black suede with yellow leather throughout while jewel wings logos accompany a contrasting white midsole. Yellow accents also handle the laces, Swoosh, and Jumpman logos, not to mention the translucent rubber outsole. –HB
The Air Jordan 1 Mid returns in a Black/Dark Grey/Infared 23 colorway that is a monochromatic beauty with hints of red. A slick black upper is complemented with a matching black Swoosh and light gray paneling around the tongue and heel, flecked laces, a silver “AIR JORDAN” logo, a speckled white midsole and a black rubber outsole. The heel collar and Jordan branding on the tongue patch are rendered in a vibrant Infrared 23 red hue. Read more…
