Bay Area MC Nef The Pharaoh wanted to honor the greats with his hit “Everything Big.” The track, produced by P-Lo, pays homage to New Orleans bounce and the lyrics reference Cash Money Records’ greats Birdman and Mannie Fresh. Peep it above.
Sage the Gemini’s rising hit “Now and Later” dropped back in October but thanks to a Snapchat filter, the song started hitting the charts in late November. As the first single off of his forthcoming album Bachelor Party, it’s clear by the title that the song isn’t exactly about candy but Sage does have some fond memories of Now and Laters.
Ab-Soul’s opening track off DWTW is “Raw (Backwards),” a clear message to his competition. Over menacing production from Juice of All Trades, Ab takes shots at Jay Electronica but the more interesting aspect of the song is it’s reference to British occultist Aleister Crowley.
