Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q have just hit their first platinum single certifications, for “Alright” and “Studio.” Both already have platinum albums, so it may seem strange that their singles wouldn’t have gone platinum yet. “Alright” has already earned Kendrick Grammys for “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Performance” as well. Congrats and you know there’s more to come!
Keeping forward on Kendrick Lamar‘s success, his ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ album is now certified platinum. The news grows with the RIAA’s updated album award rules, which will now count audio and video streams in it’s gold and platinum program, instead of just sales.
