Jordan Brand is apparently bringing back the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” for the 2017 holiday season. Originally released in November 1996, this simple black and white version was the first colorway seen on the 12th edition. The design has seen retro releases throughout the year, with a low-top rendition eventually making its way onto shelves in 2004. As reported by Sneaker Files, the newest release will uphold the original sneaker’s silhouette, with white tumbled leather along the upper and black pebbled leather on the mudguard. Be sure to check back for more details on this limited drop. –HB
They’re back. Following a CDP release in 2008, the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” returns to retail. A white and black color scheme proves as just as iconic in 2013 as it was in 1997, earning its nickname from the yellow and black hits on the carbon fiber midfoot shank. Golden eyelets keep it classy, with heel and tongue tagging providing identity and nostalgia. The “Taxi” Air Jordan XII is one of those original MJ colorways that ended up kind of far from the Chicago palette what with its black and white based colorway. Of course there is a little bid of red hidden in there, but it’s certainly toned down in comparison to other originals of the same shoe like the black/red “Flu Game” classic. Stay with us after the break to see how the 2013 Air Jordan 12 retro is shaping up and let us know if there are any other colorways that you’ve got your fingers crossed for. -Box Kev [more…]
The Air Jordan XII will be back in 2013 with another 1996 original colorway in the form of this, the “Taxi” look. You’ll recall that the black and white colorway last came around during the “Countdown Pack” madness and was part of one of the more coveted packs in the range due to its pairing with the Air Jordan XI “Bred”. This go-round has a slight switch up from that last release in that the eyelets appear to have a bit of an extra gold look to them. See the shoes in better detail below, keep in mind that this appears to be the GS version, and then give us a heads up in the comments if you feel like you’ll be adding them to your collection. –Box Kev [more…]
