Ashlee Ray spoke to Nipsey backstage at the Beats Music press tent, and the rapper gave us the current status of “Victory Lap” and also hinted at what kind of sound you can expect from the mixtape-turned-album. “I’m in record mode,” Nipsey says since ending his “Crenshaw” tour. He promises a lot more details later on this year, and says that through the transition from mixtape to album the concept has stayed the same but the individual records have changed.
